My husband and I were introduced to Kona Mountain Coffee a few years ago when we were visiting a friend. We both ordered cold brews and we were converted! Normally both of us like to add in milk and sugar to our coffees, and were surprised that these cold brews didn't need anything.
Fast forward to our recent honeymoon to the Big Island. We visited this place 4 times in the span of a week. We literally can't get enough of this coffee. I bought a bag of coffee for my family in Hilo and a few small bags of coffee for omiyage for family and friends on Oahu. Everyone only had good things to say about them :)
This place is definitely a must visit while you're in Kona or the Kohala Coast. -

3 stars for their awkward service
5 stars for their delicious coffee & coconut macaroon.
bro called in to ask if they have wifi- they said yes... arrive and find out that they do not have wifi.. they actually have a big sign that says something like.. put down your phone and talk to each other. while i totally agree with that sign... when i'm on an island and i need to connect to wifi- i would love the establishment to be honest with me about whether or not they have it available to customers.
even still- their coffee truly was good enough to make us return almost daily while on the big island. also- that coconut macaroon dipped in chocolate is YUM!!!!! get that! -

UPDATE 8/6/19
Decided to add a star to my previous edit because the business manager of KMC was quick to message me to explain the team had been going through training to address customer service and consistency issues. I was also offered a drink. THAT is the customer service I know from this business: considerate, giving, and always attempting to reach out and connect with customers. I hope KMC continues to improve to reach the standard I've come to know.

UPDATE 8/2/19
Usually my experience here is perfect but the past few times I've been in, service has been... lacking. Today I had asked for an iced mac nut latte in my personal mug. Barista (who has been working there for as long as I've been coming) asked me twice if I said vanilla syrup. I was the only customer ordering a drink at the time, so it wasn't busy whatsoever. When she called my drink, she said "vanilla latte" and she had made it a hot drink. This has happened a few times in the past, where I ensure the barista hears me ask for an iced drink. I've just let those go because service is usually unbeatable. But for a longtime employee to mess up my order in two ways after reconfirming my order twice... that's disappointing to me. I was rushing to go to work and didn't get the chance to get my correct drink. Not sure if I'll choose KMC over a Starbucks if I'm trying to get dependable service.

One of my favorite places to grab coffee! Service is always super friendly and fast-- great for getting your fix on a tight schedule. Maya, a barista, recognizes me when I come in (as well as some other baristas) and it feels great to be remembered! Yes, KMC is a bit pricier than other coffee shops, but for 100% Kona coffee and the amazing service you receive, it's totally worth it. -

This was my very first stop after taking an early morning flight in Kona and it totally set the perfect tone to the rest of my day! We walked in and were greeted by a nice woman who offered us a sample of a beautiful chocolate covered peanut. So yummy! I decided to order a cold brew since it's been so humid lately and verified with the barista that this was a solid choice. Often times, especially at Starbucks, coffee places tend to make a cold brew which is insanely bitter and almost undrinkable. I always drink my coffee black so there's no creams or sugars standing in the way of the flavors. I'm happy to report the cold brew from Kona Mountain Coffee is really smooth and you should definitely order it if you're looking for a cool caffeine fix. A wonderful locally owned business where you can grab your drinks and all the local snacks your luggage can carry!

Iced coffee on a hot and humid day for $3, can't beat it. Staff is super nice and the cafe is air conditioned. Wish there was indoor seating otherwise I would have probably ordered more coffee! Nice little gift shops takes up most of the store. And being next to Kona Airport meant it was a great last stop before leaving the island.
